Dr Jarvis L Collier
Life Objective: to glorify God as an instrument for preaching/teaching/modeling the redemptive love of God through Jesus Christ, guided by the Holy Spirit. He aims to reach humanity with biblical truth centered in forgiveness, excellence, empowerment.
The Rev. Dr. Jarvis L. Collier represents an anointed, charismatic, dynamic, fresh voice for the Lord Jesus Christ. Scholarly, insightful, practical characterize his approach, providing guiding principles for Christian discipleship.
He serves God and the saints as Senior Pastor of Pleasant Green Baptist Church, Kansas City, Kansas. There, he leads a vibrant, multi-faceted, growing Christian fellowship of 1,000 saints. Some of their ministries include Evangelism, Prayer, Media, Children, Youth, Singles, Men, Women, Couples, Economic Development, Community Enhancement, and Social Justice. His Television Outreach, both locally and nationally, spans several states, having broadcast for 2 years over the international Word Network.
A native of Los Angeles, CA, he was spiritually mentored by several distinguished Christian leaders now in glory. He dedicated his life to Jesus Christ in 1968, and for 30 years has been active in some aspect (Pastor; Evangelist; Singles Conference Leader; Author) of full-time Christian ministry.
Thirsting for theological training and biblical insight, he holds the Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles; the Master of Arts degree from Fuller Theological Seminary; completed Graduate Studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; and holds an Honorary Doctorate degree.
Collier is the noted author of three widely-used texts; "Biblical Challenges for Christian Singles, " "The Preacher's Journey," and "A Passion for Excellence." He is widely-sought and respected as a preacher/lecturer across America.
Sensing the global dimension of Christian outreach, he has visited and ministered in several European, Asian, and African countries.
Locally, he serves as Chairman of the Board, United Way of Wyandotte County, KS. Additionally, he is Chairman of the Board, PGCDC, spearheading the $6.5 million transformation of an historic school into 43 units of affordable housing for seniors.
In all, he is blessed by the love and encouragement of his family: wife, Jennifer, son, Jarvis II; and daughter, Jillian.
