The Pleasant Green Baptist Church in Africa

GROUND BREAKING - REV NEBENU & MRS NEBENU - FAMILY & CHURCH  

Inaugurated in 1982, this congregation represents an indigenous center for worship of the Lord Jesus Christ in the "motherland." Pastor Gray was sensitive to the need for such a witness. He led the church family in becoming a sponsoring fellowship of this new international ministry, under the leadership of Rev Nathaniel Nebenu. Through its mission funds, Pleasant Green has provided consistent financial and emotional support for the pastor, workers, construction of a church, along with a  maternity clinic.

Rev Nathaniel C Nebenu came to America in 1972 from Nigeria, Africa to study Theology for two years at the Central Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, KS.  While attending the seminary, he came to Pleasant Green to study under Pastor Gray and to serve Christ through our church.  While at Pleasant Green, Rev Nebenu assisted the pastor, served as a teacher in the FYA Sunday School Department and the Sunday Evening Bible Study.

Rev Nebenu graduated from Central Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters Degree in Religious Education.  He was ordained here at the Pleasant Green Baptist Church in May, 1974.  On May 21, 1974, Rev Nebenu departed for home, where he is a servant for God in his native country.
